Episode 195: Apocalypto

If there ever were a singular, unique piece of film we've ever covered, Mel Gibson's exploration of the last days of the Mayan civilization through the eyes of a survivor desperate to save his family is it. APOCALYPTO received tremendous praise upon its release, despite the rising controversies surrounding Gibson's personal struggles. We heap no small amount of praise upon it ourselves as we explore what it has to tell us about the way we face our own apocalypses and the chances we take to start new beginnings.

Also in this episode, we spent a decent chunk of time discussing Episodes 5 & 6 of Season 3 of HBO's THE LEFTOVERS, and we take a few somber moments to reflect upon the legacy and untimely death of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman through the lens of this year long series we are exploring about learning how to lose.

It's an over-sized conversation this week, but one we really think you're going to enjoy.
