The Fear of God Book Club!

HELLO! And welcome to the information page for the Fear of God Book Club, hosted by Troubadour Booksellers in Charlotte, NC.

Beginning October 12, 2025, 3-5pm and meeting every second Sunday of the month, we will be taking what we do on the show and with movies and making it in person and with books!

Each month in our texts we’ll “explore what scares us to find what saves us,” mining the thoughtful and frightful fictional and nonfictional works by authors whose writings would be well fit for the FoG.

Dredging the streams of what makes each podcast conversation so rich, the book club will alternate between spooky horror novels one month and thought-provoking socio-religious texts the next.

Our first four books, featured above, will be:

OCTOBER - Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix*
NOVEMBER - Jesus and John Wayne by Kristin Du Mez
DECEMBER - A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
JANUARY - Changing Our Minds by David Gushee**

Rules:

The only rules for FoGadour Book Club are:
1. Come with an open heart and mind.
