Enemy

We launch a brand new series this week gleefully titled #foggoweeners, representing films which are otherwise unrelated but linked by being recommended to us by our patrons during our annual FoGgoween event. We start with Denis Villeneuve's endlessly fascinating and provocative film starring Jake Gyllenhaal, ENEMY. It's a film which invites shock upon first viewing, but then quickly proceeds to invite contemplation and self reflection as its various metaphors and imagery dig their way into our imaginations.

It would be foolish to forecast that we were able to crack the code or explain what this film is about, but like the explorer mindset we actively embrace, we tread eagerly into the many things this film makes us think about relational roles, choices, gender dynamics, control and manipulation, and our own adopted perceptions and perspectives regarding those around us we are tempted to call "enemies".

Also featuring a Patron-only segment recapping our Halloween experiences, this is a discussion we're very proud of and that we think (and hope) you'll really enjoy.
